Are you an electrical safety professional who thrives in high-consequence environments and wants to play a critical role in supporting one of the nation’s most important national security missions?
COMPA Industries is seeking experienced Electrical Safety Officers / Subject Matter Experts to support Los Alamos National Laboratory's PF-4 operations. This is a unique opportunity to become the technical authority for electrical safety within one of the most complex and highly regulated facilities in the country. In this role, you'll work directly with engineers, project managers, planners, craft personnel, and facility leadership to ensure safe electrical work practices, investigate incidents, lead safety assessments, and drive compliance with industry and DOE standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and administer electrical safety programs in support of critical nuclear operations
- Serve as the primary electrical safety resource for field personnel, management, and project teams
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action development
- Review Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and Integrated Work Documents (IWDs)
- Perform field inspections and electrical hazard assessments
- Support construction, maintenance, and operational activities within PF-4
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE, and DOE electrical safety requirements
- Develop and improve electrical safety policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Provide technical guidance on low-voltage AC/DC systems and electrical engineering applications
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, Safety, or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of electrical field experience
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA, IEEE, and electrical safety regulations
- Experience supporting construction, maintenance, industrial, manufacturing, utility, nuclear, or high-hazard environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Position Details
- Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico (100% Onsite)
- Facility: PF-4 Nuclear Facility
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Nights after training)
- Hourly Compensation $87 - $92/hr Overtime
- Per Diem / Relocation Assistance Available
- DOE Q Clearance Eligible Position
- Long-Term Assignment with Extension Potential
