🔍 About the Role
COMPA Industries is partnering with Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to hire a Software Developer 4 with deep experience in ServiceNow, ITSM, and enterprise platforms supporting mission-critical national security programs.
This role is ideal for a senior ServiceNow or enterprise developer who thrives in regulated environments and wants their work to directly support the DOE mission.
This is a remote position supporting teams operating within the DOE complex.
💡 What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software applications
- Lead development across the full software lifecycle
- Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Perform code reviews and ensure quality, security, and compliance standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and system issues
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, project managers, and IT teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation and system artifacts
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and process improvement
✅ Required Qualifications
- 8 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern languages (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Solid understanding of software architecture, APIs, and system integrations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
⭐ Desired Skills & Experience (Strongly Preferred)
✔ ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS, or equivalent)
✔ ITIL v4 Foundation or higher certification
✔ Hands-on experience with Atlassian Jira for project tracking
✔ Hands-on experience with Atlassian Confluence for technical documentation
✔ Proficiency in Java and JavaScript
✔ Strong working knowledge of SQL (Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle)
🎓 Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Advanced degree or certifications a plus
