We're looking for a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Dog Walker & Pet Caretaker to join our growing team in Columbia, Missouri.

Responsibilities
- Provide scheduled dog walks and in-home drop-in visits.
- Follow individualized feeding, hydration, exercise, and care routines.
- Provide attentive puppy care and reinforce owner-approved basic training routines.
- Send timely photo and video updates to pet parents.
- Attend meet-and-greets with clients and their pets.
- Follow detailed care instructions and communicate promptly about concerns.
- Respect clients' homes, property, privacy, and access instructions.
- Maintain a professional, dependable, and caring presence during every visit.
Compensation & Career Growth

- Starting wage: $15/hour. Begin with paid onboarding and hands-on training to learn our standards for premium in-home pet care.
- 90-day performance review: Potential increase to $18/hour. Team members who demonstrate reliability, excellent communication, consistent quality of care, and positive client feedback may qualify for a raise.
- Continued growth: Potential progression up to $25/hour. Employees who consistently demonstrate exceptional performance, dependability, and professionalism may be considered for further increases as they gain experience and take on greater responsibility.
- Additional opportunities: Paid training, priority access to recurring client assignments, and professional development as CoMo Pet Care grows.
- Mileage reimbursement: Eligible work-related travel may qualify for reimbursement under company policy.
Pay increases are based on documented performance, business needs, and management approval. All increases are opportunities rather than guarantees.
Qualifications
- Genuine love for animals and a commitment to their safety and well-being.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Comfort working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and established care routines.
- Professional communication skills.
- Weekday availability, with some weekend and holiday flexibility.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to safely handle larger dogs and meet the physical demands of pet care.
- Willingness to complete a background check and provide professional references.
Previous professional pet-care experience is preferred but not required. We're interested in candidates who demonstrate good judgment, responsibility, and a willingness to learn.
Schedule & Location
This is a part-time employee position serving clients within designated areas of Columbia, Missouri.
Hours will depend on client bookings and business needs. Weekday availability is required, with occasional weekend and holiday assignments.
