What You’ll Do
• Responsible preparing trays with standard dental equipment to ensure effective patient turnover.
• Operate, monitor, and clean sterilization equipment.
• Perform daily and weekly infection control test to ensure optimum sterility.
• Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments using ADA protocols
• Observe and maintain all OSHA guidelines and standards.
• Assists in preparing the patient for examination by medical staff, assists during the examination as needed.
• Assists in cleaning and sterilizing instruments used in the clinic, assuring labeling as to expiration dates and
checking current status.
• Assists in the general maintenance and disinfection of the patient examination rooms, work-up area and
equipment.
• Review log books, provide training or assistance to other sites.
• Train and sign off dental colleagues for sterilization competencies at all dental locations.
• Participates in continuing education seminars on and off-site as feasible.
• Participate in Eagle Excellence activities
• Travel to other CWH sites to assist as necessary
• Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Required:
• High School diploma or GED.
• DA I or DA II
• BLS Certificate from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Dental Assistant Program Diploma (If applicable)
• Radiography (X-Ray) Certification
• Infection Control/Sterilization Certification
• Medical Emergencies Dental Office Certification
• Coronal Polishing Certification
• Dental Assistant Certification (Preferred)
• Current NC Driver’s License
Preferred:
- Min one (1) Year experience as Dental Asst I
