Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document mental health conditions.
- Implement crisis management protocols and crisis intervention strategies to support patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining detailed medical records and documentation.
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection to contribute to ongoing program improvements and evidence-based practices.
- Provide education on medical terminology related to behavioral health and participate in case management activities to coordinate patient care effectively.
Qualifications
- A current license or certification as a Mental Health Professional or Clinical Trainee; relevant credentials include social work licenses or counseling certifications.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with disabilities in outpatient or inpatient settings; telehealth experience is highly valued.
- Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology knowledge, and crisis intervention skills.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health issues including PTSD, addiction counseling, grief counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments and patient engagement; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience managing medical records securely while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with compassion and professionalism; experience in hospital or clinic environments is preferred.
