Pay Range $65,000 - $75,000

Position Summary

The Grants Coordinator is responsible for assisting with managing the proposal and reporting process for federal, state, local, corporate and foundation support for Community Teamwork’s programs as well as capital initiatives. The Grants Coordinator will work focusing primarily on prospect research, developing and contributing to the reporting requirements for on-going grants, identifying and securing new avenues of revenue, and assisting in managing the interdepartmental process of grant proposals. The grants coordinator will support documentation into CTI's CRM related to annual appeals, special events, thank you letters and other documentation as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for researching and identifying funding opportunities to support existing and planned programs and initiatives.
  • Research corporate, foundation and government initiatives to identify a pipeline of prospective funding sources.
  • Assist with performing the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals for corporate, governmental, and foundation sources. Manage the proposal and report writing for a defined portfolio of existing and prospective funders.
  • Prepare an annual work plan for securing corporate and foundation support; tracking past, current and potential future funders while also maintaining relationship histories, special requirements and appropriate stewardship information.
  • In coordination with Program content experts and fiscal staff, manage the preparation and submission of proposals and reports in a timely fashion, ensuring enough lead time is given to other staff contributing to the proposal.
  • Work closely with the fiscal leads (program-based), the fiscal department, the Planning team, and Executive Management, on grant development, forecasting, tracking, submissions, and reporting.
  • Research and organize specific programming data for Community Development Corporation (CDC), Community Action (CAA) agency, and Community Teamwork for use in grant proposal and reporting templates, including reports for partners, the community, and promotional documents.
  • Draft comprehensive grant proposal and reporting templates annually as well as acknowledgment and solicitation letters for corporate and foundation funders on an as-needed basis.
  • Track and document grant efforts, including LOIs, awards, declinations, and reporting requirements in Agency-mandated grant tracking system.
  • Help manage the year-round schedule of proposal and reporting deadlines, engaging program staff in the grant process to ensure that Community Teamwork maximizes institutional fundraising capacity.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1- 3 years of fundraising experience in corporate and foundation grants or related experience required.
  • Previous experience in prospecting for grant support from new funding sources required.
  • Ability to complete documentation with a high degree of accuracy, in a timely manner in accordance with established protocol.
  • Track record for successfully securing grants at all levels from government, corporate, and foundation funders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, structured articulate and persuasive proposals.
  • Positive and engaging interpersonal skills in working with members of organizational leadership and external parties.
  • Familiarity with grant-tracking software, such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge.
  • Self-starter who can work independently, while maintaining a strong role as a team player.
  • Experience in deadline-driven environments with the ability to plan for and manage multiple deadlines and varying levels of work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively to maintain and build funder relationships.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Passion for community development.
  • Strong research skills, both to target funding prospects and to improve the content in grant submissions.
  • Confidence researching and utilizing statistics and data to demonstrate community need for services, as well as to measure program outcomes and impact.
  • Embrace and be able to communicate Community Teamwork’s mission, vision, strategic goals, purpose and values.
  • Strong computer skills are required, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; previous experience managing programmatic or funder databases is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • State and Federal grant writing experience desirable.
  • Experience in professional grant writing or grant management in a community action or nonprofit organization preferred.
