Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team! Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Assist clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs in accordance with care plans
- Monitor health status by taking vital signs and observing patient conditions regularly
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care protocols
- Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and recreational programs to promote socialization and independence
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and safety checks
- Document client progress, update care plans, and communicate effectively with team members about any changes in condition
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing skills such as CPR and First Aid certification required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer's), or memory care needs is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts
