What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Specialist position at Community Service, Inc.?
Community Service, Inc. is currently seeking a Prevention Specialist for its Russellville location serving Pope, Johnson and Yell Counties, to provide services under the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Grant. The Prevention Specialist will be responsible for outreach, public awareness, and direct services involved in tobacco prevention and cessation. Candidate will be responsible for planning and implementation of work plan activities to the communities served, including but not limited to public education and awareness, health fairs, and policy changes/development. Prevention specialist will actively participate in community coalitions to promote community change, and promote CSI programs and services.
Bachelor’s degree in health education, sociology, psychology, social work, or other related field. Experience in group presentations and public speaking preferred. Computer skills a must; Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point. Must be highly motivated and enjoy working with and serving children, adolescents, families, schools, and communities Reliable transportation required, as well as some evening and weekend work. Must be non-tobacco user. This position requires frequent lifting of boxes and objects weighing at 25-50lbs.
