Counselor

Buxmont Academy is seeking a counselor to work with our secondary education students at our Feasterville school. Our restorative practices-based staff focus on relationships and community-building and use a team approach to empower students to take ownership of their own learning.

Responsibilities include the following:

• Building healthy relationships with adolescents.
• Providing individual and group counseling support.
• Implementing behavioral interventions and helping students work through challenging situations.
• Supporting students in developing social-emotional, behavioral, and conflict-resolution skills.

This is a permanent full-time, 10-month school year position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. There are no evenings or weekends. Salary starts at $34,500, and benefits include health, dental, and vision insurances, 401K, free professional development offerings, employee assistance program (EAP), and other opportunities for professional and personal growth.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree is required, preferable in education, counseling, or human services field.
• Behavioral support experience.
• Experience working with adolescents.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support student success.
• Ability to make recommendations, complete reports and timely submission of paperwork aligned with state mandates.
• Experience in restorative practices is a plus.
