What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Lessons Guitar Faculty - Mountain View position at Community School of Music and Arts?
The Community School of Music and Arts is seeking a motivated, experienced, fun and engaging individual to teach in-person private guitar lessons to children and adults at CSMA’s primary Finn Center site in Mountain View. This is a part-time, hourly position beginning as soon as possible. Qualified applicants may also be considered for additional teaching throughout CSMA’s other programs. QUALIFICATIONS
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practical aspects of private music instruction and a solid understanding of guitar pedagogy.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in performance and/or music education with an emphasis in guitar.
- Proven success in teaching in a private studio .
- Experience and interest in teaching students of all ages, abilities and interest levels with an emphasis on appreciation and enjoyment of music.
- Demonstrated success teaching beginning level students preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to teach and converse comfortably with diverse groups of people.
- The ability to communicate in a positive and consistent way with parents, students and administration.
- Performing experience preferred.
EDUCATION
- BA in Music or Music Education.
- Preference will be given to those who have specialized in Guitar
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Recruiting, scheduling, billing and customer service is handled by a full-time staff.
- Staff takes into account the individual teaching philosophy of each teacher when placing students.

SCHEDULE
- Preference is given to candidates who are available to teach in person at CSMA’s main campus in Mountain View on Monday & Sunday.
- Minimum weekday availability is 3:30 -7:30 pm; weekend availability is 10:00 -2:00 pm.
