What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Community Residences?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the month end close from the preparation of the necessary journal entries through the issuance of the financial statements for both companies for review.
- Prepare the monthly bank reconciliations.
- Export MIP data into excel for Analysis.
- Analyze all financial statements for questionable amounts and variance.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger, Including Individual AR accts
- Assist with preparation of the OP-Plan, COR and the Cost Reports.
- Responsible for the recording of all fixed assets and their applicable depreciation.
- Perform internal & external audits deemed necessary for both companies.
- Assist with year-end audit work.
- Become cross trained with the other areas of the Finance Department in order
to provide coverage during sick and vacation leaves.
- Document the allocation changes that occur throughout the fiscal year.
- Reconcile payroll on a monthly basis to the general ledger.
- Monthly audits of Individual Personal funds.
- Scan all new Leases into Accounting share folder monthly.
- Track vehicle mileage monthly.
- Responsible for Guilmartin Lease schedules.
- Any other job responsibilities as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related area within the Financial field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience creating and utilizing various spreadsheets.
Personal: Must possess strong analytical skills and be able to take initiative when given a project. Must be highly confidential when dealing with various aspects of the position based on the subject matter.
Other: Must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license and suitable transportation.
