Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Mental Health Services for Transitional Adult Residential Treatment Program
Hours: This is a part time position for up to 8 hours per month or 2 hours per week
Pay Rate: $215.00 per hour

Program Overview:
Located in Oceanside, CA, Casa Pacifica is a Transitional Residential program designed to provide comprehensive, psycho-social rehabilitation and recovery for voluntary adults with chronic and persistent mental illness and dual diagnosis. The program provides a schedule of daily classes to promote recovery and independent living. Services also include Case Management for the Public Conservator's Office, individual and group counseling, medication support, psychiatry, vocational services, and peer support. Clients are welcomed into a warm, homelike atmosphere where emphasis is placed on identifying individual motivating factors and goals toward recovery.
Typical Duties of the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Provide medication management and support services to our clients
- Assist multidisciplinary team with crisis intervention and psychiatric assessments
- Ensures that clients and family members are educated and informed about their medications and illness management
- Monitors health care needs of the clients and obtains assistance from other health care providers as necessary
- Ensures all medications are managed and stored appropriately as defined by local and state regulations
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Current California Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license and CPR/First Aid certification required and must be maintained throughout employment
- Specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health required
- Minimum of one year of experience working with a mental health population, especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred
- Ability to physically and mentally able to assist in emergency situations is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of County Health and Human Services requirements including documentation is preferred
- Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
