Community Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time Worship Arts Leader to lead music in our Sunday morning worship services. This position is responsible for all worship arts in the church.
Education: Background of Christian understanding or use of the arts as a primary lens to spread the gospel/Christian method or Music/Arts Major or Minor (could be in process)
Experience: Experience with all ages
Performance experience (personal or directing)
Skills: Musical skills are essential for this role (vocal and/or instrumental), leading large group, coordinating, people interaction skills
Conduct choirs for routine performance at church/other settings - vocal and bell/chime choirs
Job Responsibilities:
- Typically 3-4/month 1 hour practices Wednesday evenings during school year for vocal choir. Plan preparation beforehand, likely an additional hour.
- Early rehearsal (1/2 hour) before worship service
- Bell/chime choir plan 2-3 per year (more is possible) in worship with 3-4 one hour rehearsals beforehand (usually also on Wednesday evenings)
- Network/schedule guest musicians/singers for summer but also during the school year to fill in at other Worship Services (approximately 1 per month)
- Attend Worship & Music committee meetings (typically 1 1.5 hours every other month)
- Work with pastor to Develop other worship art options including but not limited to:
- a. Reader s theaters/theater/skits for worship service
- b. Dance
- c. Visual art experiences
- d. Use of videos for worship for special music or other worship experience
Optional, depending on interest, training, and theological awareness re: liturgical season and CPC mission
- Plan/lead a minimum of 1-2 worship services/every 2 months (minimum 6/year)

- Talent show
- Outreach art experiences in conjunction with mission outreach group
