CMCB seeks a Marketing Coordinator to oversee marketing, digital strategy, and creative content. They will be a creative and resourceful original thinker who can use digital tactics to tell compelling human stories that resonate with audiences at both an intellectual and an emotional level.
Reporting directly to CMCB's Chief Advancement Officer, the Marketing Coordinator joins the team of three full-time staff and six part-time interns at an exciting time: we are preparing to open the doors to our first fully owned and operated cultural facility in our 115 year history in Fall 2026. Situated within a high-performing department that has raised $18M since 2022, we work together to lead the efforts of promoting CMCB's arts education work-acting as the largest outside provider of arts education to the Boston Public Schools.
This role is an excellent position for an early-career professional and offers leadership potential through hands-on experience across many components of the marketing, communications, and creative sectors. While the ideal candidate may not have previous professional experience in every single discipline outlined, like all roles at CMCB, we make notable investments in professional development. This role would work closely with our outside marketing consultancy, affording significant growth opportunities for an early career marketer to have coaching from top industry professionals.
Status: Full-Time Salaried (40 hours/week), Exempt

The duties of this position are performed indoors in a business/office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate during active programming hours and minimal otherwise. While performing the duties of this job, the person in this position must be able to to remain in a stationary position 50-75% of the time. They will need to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery to assess visual media and other marketing materials. At events or press engagements, they will need to constantly move around the event space to communicate with contacts and attendees and work in an environment with a moderate noise level that can become high upon occasion.

Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy
- Collaborate with other departments at CMCB to persuasively recount what CMCB does and why it matters; manage storytelling that focuses equally on all three major program divisions
- Foster interest and demand to sign up for CMCB programs, working towards a long-term enrollment increase of 50% in the Community Music School
- Analyze data on marketing indicators
- Manage and coordinate 10 email newsletters and/or standalone marketing emails per month, integrating new sales and donor leads
- Manage CMCB's social profile on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, posting ~3x weekly
- Manage at least 4 annual paid social marketing campaigns, with support from outside marketing consultancy
- Manage Google Grants ad spend and organic SEO, with support from outside marketing consultancy
- Streamline, update, and refine CMCB's website in collaboration with an external UI/UX consultant
- Oversee the production of high quality graphics, audio, and/or video
- Lead the creation of on-brand copywriting for social posts, newsletters, and web pages
- Assist with the design of print and fundraising collateral and pieces for special events
- Delegate tasks to CMCB interns
- Help manage vendor contracts, including a digital advertising consultancy

- Understanding of current best practices in marketing and content creation
- Previous experience in design
- Demonstrated ability to generate compelling content, well-suited to various different audiences in ways that successfully impacts key indicators
- Ability to thrive within a culturally diverse, multicultural environment
- Ability to work independently and make educated recommendations about the best course of action, even when not every piece of information is readily available
- Strong interpersonal skills and an excitement to work across teams and departments to lead and/or participate in a variety of projects
- Ability to analyze existing data, get input from people around you, or seek out new sources of information in order to validate or inform decisions
- Fluency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite software
- Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S as CMCB is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time
- Previous experience in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Rush and/or Premiere)
- Previous experience with audio and/or video editing
- Previous experience with Hootsuite, or a similar social media management software
- Previous supervisory experience and/or experience in youth development
- Oral or written fluency in a second language commonly spoken by families in CMCB's student body (Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Haitian, Vietnamese, etc)
