Direct Support Professional (DSP) Part Time

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing direct support to People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in a group home setting. Part-Time staff must commit to working EVERY Thursday thru Sunday.

Position responsibilities:

· Provide support to each individual in the following ways (as needed): cooking/meal preparation, housekeeping, changing clothes, bathing, escorting individuals in the community, active treatment/assist with achieving specific goals, etc.

· Responsible for basic health, safety and supervision of People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

· Implement Plans effectively to address individual needs.

· Interact, and communicate positively with People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and treat them with dignity and respect at all times.

· Work collaborative as a team; display a positive, flexible, and cooperative attitude towards People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, coworkers and supervisors.

· Report or communicate all information pertinent to the continuity of care for People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities to immediate supervisor.

· Effectively and legibly complete required documentation.

· Comply with all CMS and DDS regulations and policies and attend all CMS and DDS required meetings and training.

· Other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

· High School Diploma/GED

· Physical/Criminal Background Check

· CPR/First Aide

· 18 years of age, or older

· Valid Driver License

· Completion of DC Required Phase Trainings/Orientation training.

· Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination Status

Nonessential skills and experience:

· Caretaking/Healthcare experience

· Experience working with People/Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.

· HHA/MA/CNA/TME certification a plus

· Sign Language a plus

Job Type: Part-time (32 hours per week)

Pay: $18 per hour
