Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. The DSP will work closely with clients to enhance their quality of life while adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.

Duties

• Provide assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Monitor and document client progress and changes in behavior or health status.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences.
• Facilitate social interactions and community engagement for clients to enhance their social skills and independence.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding client privacy and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to coordinate care effectively.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in caregiving, patient observation, and memory care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in social work or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, hospice care, or nursing home settings preferred.
• Certification in CPR is desirable.
• Strong patient observation skills with the ability to monitor changes in clients' conditions effectively.
• Knowledge of memory care techniques and strategies for supporting individuals with cognitive impairments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate nature with a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities or special needs.

Pay: $12.50 - $13.00 per hour
