SCHEDULE

Looking for someone that has some availability to cover any timeframe between 8am - 10pm intermittently. This opportunity is great for someone looking for a supplemental income because the schedule is reviewed by you and you tell us what times you can fill in! There is no set schedule and no minimum hours required, you simply review our open times schedule and fill in where you can!

COMPENSATION

Hourly Rate: $29.74 - $38.78 per hour depending on experience

JOB SUMMARY

General Description: Serves as a member of the Crisis Mobilization and Intervention Team (CMIT), provides crisis intervention and stabilization services to those individuals who are in a mental health or family crisis, and works closely with a centralized access system.

Responsibilities and Duties: Evaluates requests for services on an emergency basis and provides on-site evaluations in the community. Completes preadmission screenings using approved screening tools and techniques for consumers requesting crisis services to determine eligibility for program services and/or to recommend the most appropriate level of care. Provides backup for Access and other Emergency Services during periods of excess demand for crisis intervention and preadmission screening services. Screens inmates at the jail to assess appropriateness for post-booking jail diversion. Collaborates with criminal justice community to ensure that eligible consumers are released from jail and are diverted to the most appropriate level of care. Evaluates requests for detoxification and refers individuals to appropriate detox or other substance abuse facility if medically necessary. Provides referrals, arranges for psychiatric evaluations, hospitalization, or inter- and intra-agency services. Educates/assists significant others and family members with the petitioning process. Assists in crisis resolution.

Conducts brief assessments of the consumer's needs and utilizes natural and community supports as available. Provides a comprehensive stabilization plan following Person-centered Planning principles and utilizing the individual's strengths, natural supports and community resources, and supports stabilization of individuals and families in the least restrictive environment.

Ensures the stabilization plan is implemented building upon natural and community supports. Provides active intervention that is welcoming and solution-focused and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions on an ongoing basis. Provides crisis intervention, short-term stabilization, and intensive case management services. Facilitates placement of consumers in a respite situation for persons who are homeless or who do not feel safe in their home environment. Facilitates consumer's transition to appropriate aftercare services and assists with implementation of Individual Recovery Plans and coordination of natural supports. Provides active outreach to consumers beginning to experience crisis or have not been making scheduled appointments. Acts as an Advocate/Liaison for the consumer and/or family with service providers and community agencies.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

General Education: College: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Clinical/Counseling Psychology preferred. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work required.

Job-Related Experience: Sufficient mental health experience to perform the position at a satisfactory level required.
One year of experience with children population is required if a Master's degree is held. Three years of supervised
experience with children population is required if a Bachelor's degree is held. Experience providing crisis
intervention services preferred.

Licenses, etc.: Michigan state licensure of LLMSW, LMSW, LLC, LPC, TLLP, LP or LBSW required. Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) credential required. Valid driver's license while operating vehicle on agency business.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Knowledge: Knowledge of Person-Centered Planning; the characteristics and social aspects of mental and emotional disturbances; basic principles and techniques of psycho-social assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, mental health therapies, behavioral modification techniques, and community organization/intervention. Knowledge of legal systems, community agencies, and health, mental health, and social welfare programs. Knowledge of pertinent regulations, medications, and daily living skills.

Skills: Telephone and basic computer skills.

Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain rapport with each recipient; determine therapeutic needs; develop treatment/intervention plans; monitor recipient's behavior to assess plan effectiveness; and modify plans as recipient's needs dictate. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; adapt communication according to recipient's functioning level; and establish positive and effective relationships with colleagues and members of other community agencies/programs. Ability to listen well; adapt quickly to change; be non-judgmental, innovative, patient, and empathetic. Ability to work independently; meet deadlines; demonstrate assertiveness and initiative; and show coordination, time management, organization, prioritization, mediation, recipient advocacy, and record-keeping skills. Ability to work as a team member; and work well in stressful and crisis situations.

Physical Demands: Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and operate a computer, telephone, fax machine and copier. Frequent travel is required. Employee is regularly required to drive in all types of weather and to perform job duties effectively at all hours of the day according to the shift they are working.

Work Environment: Work is performed in a hospital emergency department, county jail, and other community settings and requires working effectively in a mobile virtual office arrangement and with a variety of people in sometimes difficult circumstances.
