Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and will play a crucial role in supporting our dental practitioners in delivering high-quality dental services. This position involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring efficient patient flow within the clinic.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during procedures (e.g., fillings, extractions, crowns)
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation, medical records, and medical coding as necessary.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Nextgen.
- Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering relevant patient history.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow in the clinic, including scheduling appointments and managing the front desk as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology, including familiarity with 3D scanners and medical imaging techniques.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with experience in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or other specialized fields.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
- Experience with EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications:
- Diploma in dental assistance.
- 2 years in a dental office.
