Responsibilities
The Environmental Fire Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining safety programs in order to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and personnel. Responsibilities include hazard identification, evaluation and control, accident/injury prevention, hazardous materials/waste management, fire/life safety, industrial hygiene and environmental regulatory compliance. Provides regulatory compliance expertise, and promotes an integrated culture of safety. Services include policy management; training, education and outreach; hazardous waste collection; regulatory consultation; and establishing tools and services that allow CHS to recognize and address health and safety hazards.
Qualifications
Education• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Safety/Health, Industrial Hygiene, or closely related field required• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate and 4 years of experience in closely related field may be substituted for Bachelor's Degree Licenses and Certifications• CHSP - Certified Healthcare Safety Professional preferredDisclaimers
