Security Guard

Job Summary

Community Mediation Services is seeking an observant, dependable, and professional Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and community members. The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, controlling access to the premises, identifying and responding to suspicious activity or security concerns, and enforcing site rules and safety procedures. This position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas regularly to maintain order, deter unauthorized activity, and establish a visible security presence.
• Monitor building access points, surveillance equipment, and premises to prevent unauthorized entry and identify potential security concerns.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and access points and promptly report safety hazards or security risks to management.
• Investigate suspicious behavior, disturbances, incidents, and security breaches and document findings as required.
• Enforce property rules, regulations, security procedures, and established site protocols.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and other incidents to help minimize risks and maintain a safe environment.
• Provide assistance to staff, visitors, guests, and community members as needed.
• Provide first aid and CPR during emergencies when appropriate and within the scope of training.
• Coordinate with and assist law enforcement, emergency services, and other appropriate authorities when necessary.
• Complete accurate reports documenting daily security activity, incidents, disturbances, and security breaches.
• Operate surveillance, detection, and emergency equipment as required.
• Protect organizational property, staff, visitors, and program participants by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Perform outdoor patrols as required, including during varying weather conditions

Physical Requirements (Essential Functions)

This position requires the ability to move throughout the facility and perform tasks that may include:

• Standing or sitting for extended periods
• Bending, squatting, or reaching
• Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds

Pay: $20.00 per hour
