We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to assume the vital role of Unit Manager within our skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate nursing staff within the unit, providing supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluations to promote professional growth.
- Oversee patient care delivery, including patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage staffing schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to optimize efficiency and maintain high standards of patient care.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, sterile processing procedures, and aseptic techniques to promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to facilitate seamless patient transitions.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Support quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and hospital policies to enhance overall patient outcomes.
- Facilitate training on advanced procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, ventilator management, and basic life support (BLS).
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a hospital or long-term care environment.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including PCC for documentation and clinical workflows.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care patients, and those requiring behavioral health support.
- Competency in medical procedures such as phlebotomy, injection administration, tube feeding management, spinal tap preparation, and wound suturing.
- Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments accurately while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
