Duties
- Oversee day-to-day property operations, including leasing, maintenance, and tenant relations
- Manage property leasing processes from advertising vacancies to screening applicants and executing lease agreements
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, landlord-tenant laws, Section 8 guidelines, and other relevant legal standards
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi or OneSite to maintain accurate records of rent payments, maintenance requests, and tenant information
- Coordinate property maintenance and facilities management to ensure properties remain in excellent condition
- Conduct regular inspections to identify repair needs and oversee contractor work to uphold safety and quality standards
- Handle legal administrative tasks including lease contracts, notices, filings, and documentation related to evictions or disputes
- Facilitate conflict management between tenants or with vendors through effective negotiation and resolution strategies
- Maintain strong customer service by addressing tenant inquiries promptly via phone or in person while upholding professional office etiquette
- Implement upselling strategies for additional services or amenities to enhance tenant satisfaction and revenue opportunities
- Manage data entry tasks accurately within property management systems like CMMS or Yardi for financial tracking and reporting
- Prepare reports on occupancy rates, maintenance status, financial performance, and compliance status for senior management
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and Section 8 housing regulations
- Proficiency in Yardi, OneSite or similar property management software for data entry, reporting, and record keeping
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and legal administrative procedures related to property management
- Experience with real estate administrative tasks including contracts, filing systems, and legal documentation
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities
- Proven ability in property leasing sales techniques with upselling skills to maximize occupancy rates and revenue streams
- Familiarity with facilities management practices including property maintenance scheduling and vendor coordination
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced office environment
- Strong negotiation skills for lease agreements, vendor contracts, or dispute resolution scenarios
- Experience in data entry accuracy and maintaining organized filing systems within office settings
