We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Community/Property Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our residential apartment communities in this area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands leasing, resident relations, financial oversight, and team accountability.
The Community Manager is responsible for driving property performance while maintaining a positive resident experience and strong on-site culture..
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the apartment community
- Supervise, train, and lead on-site leasing and maintenance teams
- Drive leasing activity, occupancy, and renewals
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and Virginia landlord-tenant regulations
- Handle resident concerns, escalations, and conflict resolution
- Oversee rent collections, delinquencies, and reporting
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and invoice approvals
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain curb appeal and safety
- Partner with maintenance on work orders, turns, and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with corporate teams on payroll, HR, and operational reporting
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Customer Service Skills to increase tenant satisfaction and retention
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience using property management software (AppFolio preferred)
Preferred:
- 2 years of experience in apartment property management
- Previous experience as a Community Manager or Assistant Community Manager
- Experience managing 150 unit communities
- Budgeting and financial reporting experience
- Ability to work occasional weekends or after-hours as needed
