Position Description
The Janitorial Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of buildings. This role ensures that residents and employees have a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and responding to special custodial needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily cleaning of common areas, restrooms, offices, and other designated spaces.
2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, furniture, and fixtures.
3. Empty trash receptacles and replace liners; ensure proper disposal of waste.
4. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors; restock supplies as needed.
5. Maintain cleanliness of entryways, hallways, and high-traffic areas.
6. Respond promptly to custodial emergencies, including spills, unforeseen messes, and disaster cleanup.
7. Assist with move-in/move-out cleaning and unit preparation as directed by the Property Manager.
8. Follow all safety guidelines set forth by the employer, OSHA, and other regulatory entities.
9. Report on any maintenance or safety issues to the Property Manager immediately.
10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1. Knowledge of standard cleaning practices, equipment, and supplies.
2. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
3. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- You must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands for cleaning tasks.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
