SUMMARY: The Major Gifts Officer will cultivate donors and provide meaningful donor engagement and recognition. Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Community Hospice & Health Services Foundation, the Major Gifts Officer will create and implement all aspects of the Annual Major Gifts/Planned Giving Programs, including all individual giving constituencies giving at $2,500 and above. This includes campaigns, gift processing, acknowledgments, personal calls and cultivation events. RESPONSIBILITIES: Cultivate relationships with prospective and current major donors, planned giving prospects, and legacy fellowship. Coordinate donor cultivation, recognition events, and other events with assistance of the Executive Director.Collaborate with Gifts & Major Donor Campaign Coordinator to maintain prospect and donor base as it relates to the donor and cultivation and organizational fundraising events.Develop and oversee a timely and relevant gift acknowledgment and recognition program with assistance of the Executive Director.Support development and oversee implementation of the Major Gifts Campaign for the annual fund as it relates to gifts of $2,500 and above. Responsibility for overall budgetary goal as set in budgetary process. Prepare solicitation material and presentations.Support development and implementation of new Planned Giving Program. Work to ensure that the program becomes an integrated part of the overall development effort. Work closely with the Executive Director in the integration of an aggressive program to build our endowment fund.Create, manage, and update donors and prospect records in Raiser’s Edge and track solicitation and stewardship actions.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree with 3 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 1 year of experience.Experience should reflect progressive work with fundraising, developing and maintaining donor relations and / or planned giving.Ability to build strong community presence and strategic partnerships.Possess valid California driver’s license with automobile insurance and have personal vehicle available for meeting with current and prospective donors.Able to work in an individual or team environment and support team members.Positive professional attitude with sensitivity to the nature of hospice and health services. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.Excellent Word, Excel and PowerPoint computer skills.Raisers Edge 7 database system And BlackBaud WealthPoint prior knowledge preferred.Outstanding communications skills: i.e., personal, telephone skills, writing, verbal, and listening.Excellent organizational skills preferredPrevious donor’s database experience helpful.Proven track record in donor cultivation and recognition.Ability to consistently understand complex business functions; preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive reports and correspondence.Ability to consistently respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work and schedule as necessary.Ability to handle confidential information and disseminate appropriate information to coworkers and other departments.Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.Ability to demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position works in an office environment using a computer and general office equipment. WORK SCHEDULE: Position is regular full-time required to work a regularly scheduled 40-hour workweek, with extra time as needed to meet the needs of the organization. Salary : $68,640 - $86,650
