What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Assistant position at Community Home Care of South Carolina?
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individual.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up living areas and doing laundry.
- Accompany individuals to appointments or outings as required.
- Engage in conversation and provide companionship to promote social interaction.
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual's physical or mental condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Skills:
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals in need of personal care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to care plans.
- Strong organizational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting or assisting with mobility.
Note: Prior experience as a Personal Care Assistant is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
