Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PCA / Caregiver 1 to provide essential support and personal care to individuals in various care settings. Responsibilities
- Assist residents and clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability.
- Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and document accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to promote safe transfers and prevent injury.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment within personal care homes, group homes, or community settings.
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through social interaction, engagement activities, and respectful communication.
- Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, retirement homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care within long-term care or group home settings.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques, behavior management strategies, and memory support practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively with people with developmental disabilities or other special needs populations.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience using EMR systems for documentation and record-keeping is preferred.
