The Director of Philanthropy and Community Engagement is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading comprehensive fundraising, donor relations, community engagement, and philanthropic strategies that advance the mission of Memphis Health Center (MHC). This position serves as the primary leader for charitable giving, sponsorship development, community partnerships, special events, volunteer engagement, and public relations activities.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Memphis Health Center serves underserved communities and relies on strategic partnerships, grants, donations, sponsorships, and community support to expand access to quality healthcare services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals.

· Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, foundation, and community donors.

· Build and maintain a major gifts program and donor stewardship initiatives.

· Develop annual giving campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, and fundraising events.

· Maintain donor records, prospect pipelines, and fundraising performance metrics.

· Develop strategic partnerships with businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and community agencies.

· Serve as an ambassador for Memphis Health Center throughout the community.

· Representing MHC at community meetings, networking events, conferences, and public forums.

· Coordinate community engagement activities that increase awareness of MHC services and programs.

· Collaborate with leadership and grant writers to identify funding opportunities and support resource development efforts.

· Assist in developing grant proposals, sponsorship packages, donor communications, and funding requests.

· Support grant reporting requirements related to community engagement and donor-funded initiatives.

· Support Board fundraising efforts and provide regular updates to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

· Assist in developing volunteer engagement and donor recognition programs.

· Plan and execute fundraising events, community outreach activities, donor appreciation programs, and public awareness campaigns.

· Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to promote organizational initiatives and community impact stories.

· Monitor fundraising revenue, sponsorship performance, donor participation, and community engagement outcomes.

· Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

· Promote Memphis Health Center’s mission and commitment to serving medically underserved populations.

· Support HRSA, FTCA, UDS, PCMH, and organizational compliance requirements.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance organizational strategic initiatives.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.

· Master’s degree preferred.

· Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, philanthropy, nonprofit development, community engagement, donor relations, or related field required.

· Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or management experience preferred.

· Experience working within healthcare, nonprofit, community health, or Federally Qualified Health Centers preferred.

· Demonstrated success securing major gifts, sponsorships, grants, donations, or fundraising revenue.

· Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred.

· Experience utilizing donor management systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Knowledge of fundraising principles, donor cultivation, and stewardship practices.

· Knowledge of nonprofit development, sponsorship development, and community engagement strategies.

· Understanding of FQHC operations, healthcare delivery systems, and community health initiatives preferred.

· Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills.

· Strong verbal, written, presentation, and public speaking abilities.

· Strategic planning and project management skills.

· Ability to analyze fundraising data and performance metrics.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

· Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, stakeholders, donors, and community partners.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
