What are the responsibilities and job description for the Third Party Billing Coordinator position at Community Healthcore?
Job scope: Responsible for all third party billing and payment functions for the center. Maintains proper backup for all related third party billing transactions. Directs the activities and Accounting Clerk personnel of the center third party billing department. Position requires use of independent judgment, in in-depth understanding of various third party payor billing and payment requirements, clean claims regulations and the ability to work effectively with center coworkers, employees and supervisors. Responsible for completion of paperwork necessary to process refunds for private insurance, Medicare and Traditional Medicaid. Responsible for overseeing current assigned programmatic Fiscal Services contractual billing.
Education/licensure
High School Diploma Required - Completion of courses in business / business administration preferred
Experience/Knowledge
Requires advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Requires advanced oral and written communication skills with emphasis on extracting and providing concise and accurate information
Requires knowledge of center third party funding sources / programs and applicable billing requirements
Requires experience in Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding
Knowledge of basic business administration principles
Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:
Moderate lifting and carrying up to a maximum of 35 pounds. Sitting for prolonged periods, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder height. Fine motor skills necessary to operate essential office equipment. Ability to read and visual acuity to decipher printed information at 8 lines per inch. Work site is inside office environment
Demonstrates aptitude for logical and deliberate problem solving and decision making
Demonstrates competency in Microsoft Word / Excel and ability to learn multiple billing software applications
Computer data entry experience / emphasizing speed and accuracy
Current valid driver's license in state of residence.
