Job Scope: This position assists individuals diagnosed with Opioid Use Disorder to lead lives of dignity and independence by helping individuals find and keep competitive employment that is consistent with their vocational goals. Utilizes Individual Placement and Support (Evidenced Based Practice) to help individuals with career development including finding jobs that are more desirable, helping people ask for raises and promotions, and helping with education and training programs that are available to the general public. Provides services as Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as specified in the Mental Health Community Service Standards (25 TAC Chapter 412 Subchapter G) and Medicaid Administration as specified in (25 TAC Chapter 419 Subchapter L)" and "Resiliency and Disease Management-Fidelity Toolkit-Psychosocial Rehabilitation and ACT alternative". Provides client services at the service site and in vivo services within a natural community setting. Key tasks include

  • Completing standardized assessments to determine need for rehabilitation services,
  • Developing service goals/objectives in collaboration with the client
  • Participating in the development of the client's Plan of Care in collaboration with the client and other team members
  • Providing small group/individual rehabilitative skills training according to authorized curricula,
  • Assessing client's progress in meeting service goals/objectives,
  • Insuring client/family satisfaction with services, participating in updating POC as needed,
  • Coordinating the completion of responsible staff activities,
  • Completing required documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Established competency in Housing Supports, Crisis Related services and COPSD.

Teaches essential job skills to individuals and engages individuals in a collaborative relationship directed toward the goal of competitive employment in the community.

Education/licensure

Bachelors Degree in Human Services that meets the Department's criteria for a QMHP

Current valid driver's license in state of residence.

Experience/Knowledge

Bachelor's degree in human services.

Preferred experience working with individuals diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder, specifically Opioid Use Disorder.

Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:

Mobile and able to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day.

  • Must be able to adequately implement SAMA, 1st Aid and CPR activities.
  • Mobile and able to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day.
  • Visual/auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate attends to and monitor client needs.
  • Work endurance sufficient to work an 8-hour day.
  • Hours may vary; some weekend/after hours work required.

Minimum Starting Hourly Salary: $20.00 per hour
