What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Coordinator position at Community Health Promotion Lab?
Position Summary:
The person in this position assists in the day-to-day research activities of a randomized controlled trial to test a health promotion program among families with toddler age children. Participants will be recruited from the community and randomly assigned to one of three conditions and research staff will collect measures of body composition, a diet biomarker, parent-child interaction quality, diet, and physical activity via parent report, physical measurement, and observation at three timepoints. Funding for this study comes from the National Institute of Health (R01HD114793-01).
Duties:
- Coordinate operations for interventions that run on Saturday mornings.
- Plans and organizes resources, paid staff, and volunteer student interns to accomplish goals related to intervention delivery.
- Maintains accurate and timely records.
- Coordinates facilitator training and supervision, intervention prep and delivery, and fidelity monitoring among facilitators, staff and student volunteers.
- Provide guidance to facilitators, research staff, and student volunteers to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results.
- Recruits, selects, and trains interns and research assistants to assist with intervention classes.
- Assists with recruitment and data collection as needed.
- Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of health promotion research and methods.
Skills managing, supervising, and coordinating teams.
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education is required. Preference for 1) student enrolled in PhD program, 2) someone with a master's degree in appropriate field relevant to ongoing study, or 3) someone with relevant experience in lieu of education.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
