Position Summary:
Under general supervision of the dental director, performs professional dental work in the supervision, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental diseases, injuries, and deformities.
Essential Functions / Duties:
- Examines, diagnoses, and plans program of treatment for patients.
- Performs operative dentistry.
- Performs periodontics.
- Performs oral surgery.
- Performs Prosthodontics.
- Performs pediatric dentistry.
- Follows office sterilization/office hygiene protocol.
- Participates in staffing, in-service training, patient education, and other meetings as appropriate.
- Refers patients to the necessary specialist for services outside the scope of general dentistry or for those of unusual difficulty.
- Supervises assigned dental assistant in provision of patient care.
Education:
- D.D.S or D.M.D Degree required.
Experience:
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and dental hygiene.
- Ability to work within a team setting and be able to relate to the special needs of CHC/SEIA’s patient population.
Licensure:

Licensure to practice within the state of Iowa.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required.
