What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Operations Director position at Community Health Center?
The Clinical Operations Director is responsible for the overall
operation of clinical services within the health center. Providers
direct supervision over nursing services, employee health, care
management and ancillary services. Reporting to the CEO, will also work
in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure effective
leadership within clinical teams and quality patient services.
Responsibilities include: Collaborates with Chief Executive Officer,
Chief Medical Officer and department managers to maximize communication
and collaboration between all disciplines, sites and departments and to
resolve any barriers to quality, team focused service delivery.
Responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of all
clinical policies and procedures, protocols and workflows in
coordination with health center Chief Medical Officer and in accordance
with health center mission, vision and goals, with an emphasis on
patient centered care. Continuously evaluates health center access and
team health care delivery model to ensure goals are regularly met or
exceeded. Working closely with the Practice Administrator, maintains
system for monitoring next available appointments, patient waiting
(cycle) times, overall patient satisfaction and outcomes according to
established quality improvement indicators. Provides support for the
health center\'s quality improvement process, including actively
contributing to Quality Improvement Committee, assuring implementation
and completion of QI action plans, PDSA cycles, LEAN projects and other
tools for continuous quality improvement as outlined in health center
policies and procedures. Actively participates in the development of key
indicators for monitoring quality of health center services in
accordance with best practices, evidenced based guidelines, and with
concurrence of Chief Medical Officer and Quality Improvement Committee.
Provides structure for and participates in team meetings at least
monthly at each site to provide leadership on scope of services,
workflow, care planning, nursing functions and other clinical issues;
Chairs the clinical operations committee. Develops operational budgets
in accordance with health center strategic plan, goals and objectives
and assigned areas of responsibility. Participates in the development of
health center goals and quality measures. Establishes and maintains
training plans and competencies of clinical staff. Ensures
reporting/integration of information in to
credentialing/re-credentialing process. Works with team leaders, case
manager, health information manager and others to establish clinical
protocols and documentation related to regional and state-wide disease
management collaborative; Supervises Clinical services/employee health
function. Qualifications Bachelor\'s Degree and licensed in nursing or
related field with at least five years\' experience in a
management/operation role within a community-based health care
environment or commensurate advanced clinical training and education.
