Patient Access Assistant – full time, Christiansburg clinic
The Community Health Center of the New River Valley is seeking a full-time (40 hours) medical front office assistant in its Christiansburg office. Hours alternate per week: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm and on alternate weeks, 10:30am – 7:00pm.
This position is the first to encounter patients and must do so enthusiastically – greeting them with courtesy, respect, and positive communication. This role is responsible for the registration of incoming patients in a prompt manner to avoid delays in arrival time and to ensure a swift check-in process. This position is also responsible for verifying patient demographics and insurance coverage and making changes as necessary, collecting patient payments, scheduling appointments, and answering the phone.
Qualifications: – at least 1 year of experience in a medical office environment; High School degree, or equivalent combination or education and experience.
