Behavioral Health Clinician
Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Clinician (LPC, LCSW, master’s level eligible) to provide comprehensive services to patients including both assessment and direct intervention, working collaboratively with medical, dental, and behavioral health providers within an integrated model of care. This position will travel between three clinic sites (Christiansburg, Dublin and Pearisburg) providing face-to-face assessments and therapy to a diversified patient population.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Consult with primary care providers to enhance understanding of the patient, and provide decision support for the primary care treatment planning;
- Assist with medication adherence and disease management counseling, along with motivational interviewing to develop strategies aimed at symptom reduction;
- Offer patient education and self-management skills for targeted populations with psychological or behavioral health issues;
- Provide on-site crisis triage and intervention during business hours as requested;
- Provide individual, group and family therapy through a strengths-based, patient-centered methodology;
- Provide comprehensive intake;
- Complete Warm Hand-Offs and same day assessments as appropriate to assist in meeting patient care needs;
- Provide Behavioral Health Consultation Services to patients to assist with managing mental health symptoms that are impacting medical care.
Typical hours are 8:30–5:00 or 8:00–4:30, depending on location. The clinician should be independently licensed or license-eligible (LPC-Resident or Supervisee in Social Work).
