Description
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using various radiologic equipment at our community health center. This role requires technical expertise, patient care skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Job duties include:
1. Perform various radiographic examinations including chest, skeletal, and abdominal X-rays.
2. Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures.
3. Operate and maintain radiologic equipment.
4. Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
5. Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
7. Assist in training new staff and students when required.
8. Participate in quality assurance activities.
9. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting.
Expertise: Proficiency in various radiographic techniques and equipment operation.
Language: Fluency in English required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Travel: Occasional travel to other clinic locations may be required.
Hours of Work: Part-time
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
1. In-depth knowledge of radiologic procedures and equipment.
2. Strong patient care and communication skills.
3. Ability to work in a team environment.
4. Proficiency in digital imaging systems and PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
5. Knowledge of radiation safety practices and regulations.
6. Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.
7. Ability to lift and move patients when necessary.
8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
DESCRIPTION OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Ability to stand for extended periods.
2. Capable of lifting and positioning patients (up to 50 lbs) with assistance.
3. Manual dexterity to operate radiologic equipment.
4. Visual acuity to view and evaluate radiographic images.
5. May be exposed to infectious diseases and radiation (with proper safety measures in place).
6. Work is performed in a clinical environment with occasional exposure to unpleasant sights, sounds, and odors.
7. May require working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask.
