The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. (CHCB) is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Buffalo, NY. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with Behavioral Health staff to provide assessments, evaluations, consultations, examinations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning for a specific patient population.

The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. (CHCB) is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Buffalo, NY. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with Behavioral Health staff to provide assessments, evaluations, consultations, examinations, differential diagnosis, and treatment planning for a specific patient population.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical direction to clinical staff, including Social Workers, Case Managers, RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.
- Adhere to all clinical policies and procedures, including infection control principles and confidentiality.
- Assess psycho-social health status through medical history and physical examination.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests.
- Triage, diagnose, and treat illness and behavioral health conditions within the specialty area of practice.
- Function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Prescribe medication, provide preventive health maintenance, and education.
- Teach and counsel patients, families, and groups.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Comply with regulatory guidelines and collaborating physician requirements.
- Direct, instruct, and evaluate nurse practitioner students.
- Attend meetings and perform other relevant duties as assigned.
- Current, unrestricted New York State license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA Registration number to prescribe controlled substances.
- Master of Science degree in Nursing.
- National certification in specialty area.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office.
- Five years of experience in an outpatient setting.
- Experience with eClinical Works Electronic Medical Record System.
- Salary:** $115,000 - $120,000
