Exchange Enrollment Facilitator

Community Health Alliance is looking for full-time Exchange Enrollment Facilitator. Join our talented Population Health Department that focuses on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income.

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.

The Exchange Enrollment Facilitator (EEF) is an integral member of the Community Health Alliance (CHA) Population Health team, supporting patients in accessing, understanding, and maintaining affordable health coverage. The EEF serves as a knowledgeable resource for patients navigating healthcare coverage options and enrollment processes. This role requires certification as an Enrollment Counselor with the State of Nevada and is responsible for assisting eligible individuals with enrollment with Medicaid and other health coverage programs. The EEF provides direct support with Medicaid applications, redeterminations, and related coverage requirements to help reduce barriers to care and promote continuity of coverage. Through education, outreach and individualized assistance, the EEF helps patients make informed coverage decisions and strengthens access to timely, affordable healthcare services.

This is a grant-funded appointment supporting Nevada Health Authority’s Nevada Medicaid and Exchange enrollment and health coverage outreach initiatives. The initial term of the position is dependent upon grant funding and program requirements. Based on program success, ongoing organizational needs, and the availability of funding, the position may be extended beyond the initial grant period and may have the potential to transition into a permanent position. Continued employment beyond the grant period is not guaranteed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must maintain Certified Enrollment Counselor certification and Nevada Division of Insurance registration.

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local benefit programs, including Medicaid, Medicaid Check Up, Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and Marketplace health insurance .

• Familiarity with EMR systems and proficiency in documenting and reporting patient interactions.

• Strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) in both clinical and community settings.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and operation of office equipment.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and CHA policies.

• Ability to identify issues, solve problems, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively in teams.

• Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary internal and external customer service.

• Strong cultural competency and professional communication skills.

• Ability to travel between clinic sites and community events; must maintain valid driver’s license.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Must be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently.

• Experience in health insurance access and eligibility preferred.

• Knowledge of community resources and processes preferred.

• Experience in customer service and EMR preferred.

• Must have or obtain a Certified Enrollment Counselor certificate within 4-months of hire.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Ability to stand, walk, and participate in community events, including some outdoor activities.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

• Frequent speaking and hearing, including telephone communication and patient interviews.

Environmental Requirements:

• Work performed in the office/clinic.

• May be exposed to varying weather conditions if traveling between clinics.

• Occasional travel between clinic sites.
