Position Overview
CHAN is seeking a motivated and community-driven Outreach Worker to support disaster preparedness education efforts through the CalOES Listos California program.
In this role, you’ll be actively engaging with community members, leading presentations, and helping individuals and families become better prepared for emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Identify and connect with community sites for outreach and presentations
- Support the planning and coordination of outreach events and activities
- Deliver disaster preparedness workshops and educational presentations
- Distribute outreach materials and promote community participation
- Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, including data tracking and reporting
- Prepare clear and concise written summaries of outreach activities
- Collaborate with program staff to support outreach goals and scheduling
- Travel to various locations throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with community programs, social services, or related fields
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage time effectively
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to facilitate both in-person and virtual presentations
- Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current insurance required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
- Previous outreach or community engagement experience preferred
