What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Care Attendant position at Community HCS?
Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Follows the instructions of the PAS Supervisor in providing personal assistance services.*
- Provide assistance with hygiene such as bathing, oral care, and dressing.*
- Assist with food preparation; serve food, performs errands, light house keeping, laundry, wash dishes.*
- Perform and record accurate measurements (i.e. vital signs, or intake/output as instructed in the care plans). *
- Observe and report any safety hazards found in the clients home or any significant observations regarding the client.*
- Attend staff meetings, attend/complete 12 hours of annual in-services, and participates in orientation of new employees. *
- Report client complaints to the PAS Supervisor. *
- Maintain client confidentiality/adheres to HIPAA requirements and agency policy and procedures manual. *
- Possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions. *
- Report abnormal findings in clients conditions as observed and per care plan to RN. *

High school diploma or GED (preferred)

Previous experience as a PCA, caregiver, or in a related field (preferred but not required)

Ability to follow care plans and maintain clear communication

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if travel is required)

Clear background check and eligibility to work in the U.S
