Duties
- Implement individualized plans to support clients with developmental disabilities, autism, and other behavioral health needs.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and social skills.
- Collect and document data on client progress, behavior patterns, and service outcomes accurately and consistently.
- Support clients during community outings, appointments, and recreational activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals and maintain proper medication records.
- Communicate clearly with clients using various methods, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and expression.
Qualifications
- Experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health challenges.
- Knowledge of special education principles and best practices for supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community outings.
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving support in home or community settings.
- Familiarity with data collection methods related to client progress and behavior tracking.
- Certification or experience in behavioral health, social work, or related fields is a plus.
