Finance Assistant
Reports To: Director of Finance
Position Summary
The Finance Assistant supports the financial operations of the Community Foundation through accurate recordkeeping, donor receipting, and bookkeeping. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, ensuring donor transactions are handled with care and precision, and managing the full financial life cycle of the Foundation’s events activity. The Finance Assistant works closely with the Director of Finance to uphold the Foundation’s standards of accuracy, compliance, and stewardship.
Core Responsibilities
· Prepare and make deposits to the bank; record all deposit activity accurately in the Foundation’s software
· Track tribute information and ensure the software is updated accurately, including promoting funds when an active tribute is in place
· Receive in-office payments, count money, and provide receipts to visitors in a timely and professional manner
· Manage the full process for tax acknowledgement letters, including pulling letters from the system, reviewing for accuracy, submitting for signature, and sending to donors
· Own the full financial life cycle of each event, including assisting with the application process, reviewing insurance requirements, processing disbursements, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and Foundation policies

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
· Minimum two (2) years of experience in nonprofit work and/or volunteering a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Hours of Work Required
Full time, 40 hours per week. Non-exempt position with benefits.
Pay: $32,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
