About the Encore Fellows Initiative

The Community Foundation of South Jersey (CFSJ) Encore Fellows Initiative connects experienced older adults with local nonprofits to lead high-impact, capacity-building projects. Funded through a grant focused on promoting public service among older adults, this initiative highlights the valuable skills, experience, and perspectives older adults bring to the community.

Encore Fellows serve as independent contractors, funded with a $2,000 monthly stipend from the CFSJ, for the duration of the project.

Project Overview

United Way of Gloucester County is leading an innovative countywide nonprofit collaboration designed to strengthen the social service sector through greater coordination, shared resources, and collective impact. As part of this effort, UWGC is launching a Shared Marketing Office that will provide marketing and public relations support to participating nonprofit organizations throughout Gloucester County.

The Shared Marketing Office will be staffed by marketing interns from local colleges, coordinated through the Volunteer Center South Jersey, and hosted by UWGC. To ensure the success and sustainability of this model, UWGC seeks an experienced marketing professional to serve as an Encore Fellow and provide leadership, structure, training, and mentorship for the interns and volunteers supporting the initiative.

This Encore Fellowship presents a unique opportunity to create a scalable and sustainable model that can significantly improve marketing capacity across dozens of nonprofit organizations while simultaneously developing the next generation of communications professionals.

The Fellow will oversee daily operations of the Shared Marketing Office, create infrastructure for project management and quality control, mentor interns, and help participating organizations improve their visibility, engagement, and communications effectiveness.

This role combines strategic planning, organizational development, marketing leadership, and workforce development to create lasting impact across Gloucester County's nonprofit sector.
