Position Summary:
The Temporary Market Network and Advocacy Coordinator is part of the Community Food Bank’s (CFB’s) Community Development team, this position works directly with farmers market vendors, customers, volunteers, community stakeholders, and organizational partners to co-create a weekly farmers market that accepts multiple forms of public assistance benefits. This position focuses on facilitating processes for shared decision-making to build capacity within the Southern Arizona Food System. This position and the Community Development team center values of self-determination, access to economic opportunities, and community access to fresh, healthy food in-line with the CFB’s mission to alleviate hunger and promote health.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the coordination and day-to-day operations of the Santa Cruz River Farmers Market (SCRFM), ensuring a well-organized, compliant, and community-centered market environment.

Oversee all administrative market functions, including volunteer recruitment and onboarding, vendor support, financial tracking, and regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, vendors, partners, and community stakeholders to support program growth and long-term sustainability.

Support and strengthen the SCRFM Advisory Committee by facilitating meetings, encouraging stakeholder engagement, and advancing shared leadership and decision-making.

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities, address challenges, and implement strategies that enhance the local food system and market operations.

Develop and implement outreach and promotional strategies to increase customer engagement, with a focus on expanding access for SNAP, WIC, and Farmers Market Nutrition Program participants.

Advance equity initiatives by increasing participation and access for historically marginalized farmers and vendors, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.

Coordinate communication with vendors and stakeholders, including updates on policies, procedures, market data, and opportunities for involvement and leadership.

Support partner and network development by strengthening collaboration across community food system initiatives, including Farm-to-Institution efforts and the Abundant Harvest Cooperative.

Contribute to organizational success by participating in cross-functional initiatives, documenting processes, engaging in professional development, and supporting broader Community Development goals.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:

Two (2) years of experience in community education, community development, or related work, preferably within diverse or low-income communities.

Experience in sustainable agriculture, organic farming, or local food systems, along with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including facilitation and coalition-building experience.

Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record; ability to travel to CFB locations.
