Job Title: Second Glance Sales Associate
FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly)
Department: Retail
Summary:
The Community Enrichment Center (CEC) is looking for a Sales Associate/Cashier for the Second Glance Thrift Shop in North Richland Hills. The store provides funding for CEC Mission, which includes housing and empowering families fleeing domestic violence, homeless families and families living in poverty. The store provides furniture and goods to these families, and the sales revenue to support the work to help families be successful.
Store Hours - Monday through Saturday 9 am to 6 pm, Sunday 12 pm to 5 pm
Availability – Flexible Monday through Saturday 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Sunday 11 am to 5:30 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and experience.
- Cash register procedures: Ability to follow all cash register operating procedures i.e... Handling cash, charge cards, vouchers, and other register transactions.
- Must adhere to opening and closing procedures.
- Accept and process donations: Sorting and separating saleable merchandise, and process saleable merchandise by tagging, pricing, and placing items on the sales floor.
- Product Knowledge: Understand and be familiar with all the types of merchandise on the salesfloor. Ensure all merchandise is placed within each appropriate area.
- Assist with the in-take and selling of furniture.
- Ensure the salesfloor is clean, organized and visually appealing.
- Adhere to all safety procedures.
- Complete all tasks assigned by the manager on duty.

- Adheres to all CEC policies, procedures, and standard of conduct
- Communicate professionally with customers and volunteers
Education/Experience
High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret in English.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; database software, email and internet.
