POSITION SUMMARY

A Job Coach at CE&DS helps program participants succeed at work, at home, and in their communities. In this role, you will provide 1-on-1 support to people with disabilities by helping with a variety of vocational and personal goals through skill modeling and structured activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify job duties and create a step-by-step breakdown of job tasks/duties – aligning the person's learning style with the training method.
• Provide support in completing tasks, including modeling appropriate behaviors as needed.
• Identify areas for improvement and address them accordingly.
• Plan meaningful activities with clients to build skills that contribute to identified goals.
• Maintain and submit timely coaching reports.
• Communicate problems and create action plans to resolve any issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (example: HSED, GED)
• Valid driver’s license, access to reliable automobile, proof of insurance, and good driving record
• Basic computer skills and cell phone
• Ability to deal with challenging behavior while teaching job tasks, and communicate any support needed.
• Patience, kindness, and flexibility
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One year of professional or personal experience with people who have disabilities.
