Job Summary:

To provide quality instructional and recreational activities in a nurturing, safe environment utilizing developmentally appropriate activities for kindergarten through 6^th grade children.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Assist the Xplore program manager
• Provide quality instructional and recreational activities
• Create a nurturing and safe environment for K-6^th children
• Utilize a variety of developmentally appropriate activities for K-6^th children
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools 

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in working with children

• Must be able to manage small groups of children
• Ability to work well with children, teachers, and parents
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with children, staff, district personnel at all levels and parents; maintain confidentiality
• Assist the Xplore Program Manager with the implementation of age appropriate activities for kindergarten through 6^th grade children
• Perform a variety of duties (clerical, cleaning, ect) in support of the Xplore program
• Regular and on-time attendance required 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Working in elementary or middle school classrooms or designated activity spaces
• Outdoors or in gyms for physical activities
• Working under the supervision of a lead teacher or program coordinator, often as part of a team
• Helping students at desks or during activities requiring stooping, bending, kneeling
• Occasionally moving supplies, educational materials, or assisting students from 25-50lbs
