What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extended Day Teacher/Assistant position at Community Education?
The Chandler Extended Day K – 2 and Alden Extended Day Grade 3 - 5 programs are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-time Teacher/Teacher Assistant in the afternoon for the 26-27 school year.
Position Requirements:
- Must have relevant experience with school age children.
- Teacher/Assistant Level based on degree status and number of Early/Elementary Education college courses completed
- Positions are Monday – Friday, Gr 3 - 5 from 1:30 p.m. - 5:15 p.m, and K - 2 from 2:45 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Primary Location Chandler and Alden Elementary School
The Extended Day Program was created to provide before and after school care for children in grades K-5 in safe, supervised, and supportive surroundings. The Chandler and Alden programs are dedicated to serving the needs of the families of Duxbury by providing children with a variety of enriching and educational experiences while ensuring a sense of security and consistency throughout the course of their extended school day. We employ educated and responsible staff that are trained to understand the many needs of the students as they transition between the various portions of their day. The programs focus on the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of its students while maintaining affordable rates of tuition for parents in need of before and after school care. The Duxbury K-5 Extended Day Programs adhere to the Massachusetts Department of Education standards for providing quality care and are recognized as a level 2 participant in the Massachusetts Early Education and Care (EEC) Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) initiative.
