Position Summary

The Housing Inspector will ensure the units of applicants and participants of the Housing Choice Voucher program meet HQS/NSPIRE standards and remain compliant with program rules and regulations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect houses and apartments for compliance under Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and/or National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) 
  • Schedule appointments and complete all assigned inspections on time and in full. 
  • Complete inspection reports electronically and create business correspondence when necessary. 
  • Respond to landlord and tenant inquiries. 
  • Manage various trackers daily of assigned inspections. 

 Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 3 years’ experience in case management or client services in a human services environment, housing complex, or real estate organization is preferred 
  • Must have own transportation and clean driving record 
  • Must attain an HQS and/or NSPIRE certification within the first year of employment 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of working well with others. 
  • Proactive, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Salary : $48,000 - $48,500
