Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. This position requires expertise in various dental procedures and a strong commitment to patient care. This job would require working at both the Lewiston and Farmington offices.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
- Operate dental imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes, ensuring high-quality medical imaging results.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care and support general dentistry practices.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
Qualifications
- Maine RDH License
- Proven experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in using Dentrix is a plus, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control practices, and both pediatric and adult dentistry is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
- Understanding of dental and medical terminology and the ability to review documentation effectively.
